The Geoscientist Society Gilgit-Baltistan (GSS-GB), in collaboration with the KPK Inspectorate of Mines, is proud to announce a historic milestone: for the first time in Gilgit-Baltistan, blasting-related courses and examinations will be conducted at the Diamer Basha Dam during the last week of September 2025.
This landmark event will certify geologists, engineers, and blasting personnel, ensuring they meet industry standards for safety and expertise. Previously, GSS-GB partnered with the Tunnel Institute of Pakistan to offer a three-month Tunneling Engineering Practices course, followed by examinations to certify professionals in tunneling engineering.
These certifications are open to all professionals, regardless of their organization or location. GSS-GB expresses gratitude to the Frontier Works Organization (FWO) for their continuous support—both financial and technical—in building the skills and capacities of Pakistani professionals.
